How to Cut a Straight Line

Steps   [edit]

  1. Ruler

Take out a piece of paper and put a ruler about one millimeter below where you want your line to be.
  2. Scissors

Take your scissors and open them up to the widest point.
  3. Swipe the scissors quickly along the ruler, pressing gently into the paper with the tip of the scissors.
  4. Repeat step 3 two or three more times.
  5. Take the paper. It will now have a crease in it.
  6. Follow the line. You can either carefully tear it along the edge, fold it back, or cut it. This will be a perfectly straight line.

Tips   [edit]

  • A metal-edged ruler works best.
  • Make sure the ruler does not get moved around in the process, or the line will not be straight.

Warnings   [edit]

  • Make sure not to hurt yourself with the scissors. Always keep scissors pointed away from you and from other people, preferably downwards when walking with them.
